Although we still do not have a complete game schedule, we can update many of the preseason responsibilities below.
Tryouts begin Monday, August 21st. You should bring soccer shoes, shin guards, running shoes, water, and sunblock to each day of tryouts. Please do not forget your running shoes. We will likely run ‘The Hill’ (Skyline to Discovery and back) on one of the days of tryout. Yes, your times will matter.
If you played for Varsity, Junior Varsity or JVC last season (OR IF you are a Junior or Senior new to our program), your tryout begins at 11am on August 21st and runs until 1pm. If you are a Frosh or Soph, your tryout runs 1pm – 3pm.
Show up a half hour prior to your session start time to sign in, collect your tryout jersey, and help with field setup.
At the end of sessions on Monday, players will be informed in person if they should return for a second session that runs from 3pm-5pm on Monday. Players invited to the Varsity pool are not guaranteed a spot on Varsity (or JV), but should show their best.
Tuesday, August 22nd – Tryouts will be later: 4-6 JV Pool; 6-8 Varsity Pool. Players who show well may be asked to return for the later session.
Wednesday, August 23rd – 4-6 JV Pool; 6-8 Varsity Pool. Roster invitations posted by 9pm.
Planning dates ahead
Some important dates are coming including:
June 15th – Girls Soccer inventory Blitz 3pm
July 11th – Summer Sessions begin (confirmation to follow)
August 10th – Paperwork complete including Final Forms, Physical Form, and ISD Payment Portal fee
If incomplete, ask for help from Kerri Bunch, Athletic Coordinator from 8am-2pm BEFORE Aug. 10. Don’t forget to add the ASB membership to your shopping cart so that Soccer shows up as an option.
August 21st – 1st Day Tryouts 11-1 returners, 1-3 new players, 3-5 by invitation – (see additional post)
August 22nd – 2nd Day of Tryouts: 4-6 JV Pool; 6-8 Varsity Pool
August 23rd – Last Day of Tryouts: 4-6 JV Pool; 6-8 Varsity Pool; Roster invitations posted by 9pm
August 24th – First Day of Practice: 4pm-6pm; JV & JVC 4-6pm
August 25th – Practice: JV & JVC 4-6pm; Varsity Jr. Spartan Camp 11-1; Training Varsity 5:00-6pm
August 26th – Saturday Practice: Varsity train 9-11, Brunch, 12-2. JV training 10-12. JVC 11-1.
August 28th – Normal Practice Schedule. Varsity Uniform Distribution after practice.
August 29th – First Day of School – Practice Schedule – JV & JVC 3:30-5p; Varsity late 6-8.
August 30th – First Wednesday – JVC Practice after school 3:30-5. Parent Night likely 6pm; Soccer breakout in Stadium Varsity vs. JV inter squad 7:30pm (after parent meeting in stands)
August 31st – Normal Practice Schedule
September 1 – Normal Practice Schedule OR First home game
September 2, Saturday – First Games? vs. tbd OR morning training
September 4th, Labor Day – Varsity and JV evening Practice
September 5th, Tuesday – Second Game Home vs. tbd
September 15th, Friday – Home game vs. Gonzaga Prep Picture Day (to be confirmed) – All 3 teams: JVC 3:15, JV 3:45, V 4:15
